Match Play Marathon
This is a double elimination match play tournament starting early spring and is open to the first 32 players who sign up. This is a full handicap tournament so each player must have a verified handicap. The event will start with a blind draw for pairings and each match will take no more than two weeks to complete with the winners advancing. It is a double elimination tournament so a player would have to lose twice to be eliminated. The cost to enter is $30 plus cart fee. Entry forms are located in the Pro Shop. Call now to secure your spot. If you don't make this one, we will be hosting another match play marathon later in the year.

Newsflash:
Those of you who have played the course since Sunday, January 27, are already aware that the #11 green was vandalized sometime during the evening of the 26th. Our maintenance staff has worked diligently to repair the green as well as can be during this time of the year. Chauncy Nicholson, superintendent, hopes for a full recovery sometime during the early to mid summer. "Only so much can be repaired until the grass starts growing again", says Nicholson. We appreciate your patience and understanding while the quality of play is less than ideal.

In Memory:
We would like to pay tribute to two members whom have recently passed, Fred McDaniel, a founding member and Ty Gibson, the owner of HDI Solutions, a corporate member. They were the epitome of great members and they will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families.

Golf Tip of the Month:
You can get away with a lot on a bunker shot. Play the ball forward in your stance, open face and hit anywhere between one and three inches behind the ball. You don't have to be overly precise. Just make an aggressive swing into the sand, and finish with the club over your left shoulder. Be aggressive with your swing and thump the sand. -Ernie Els
